Along with specializing in Family law, I have an extensive background in prosecution of Child Abduction cases. Serving as Deputy District Attorney of Fresno County, I was involved in local, interstate and international child abduction cases. During this time, relationships were developed with fellow attorneys , police and families to enforce child custody orders, while always seeking the best interests of the children and families.

Assignments: Child Abduction Unit (5 + years); Public Assistance Fraud; Child Support Prosecution; Misdemeanor and Felony prosecution.

Assignments: Misdemeanor & Felony trial teams; Juvenile crimes; Statutory Rape prosecution; Public Assistance Fraud.

1997 & 1994 - Part time law clerk in the area of Personal Injury and Employment Law
Position: Part time law clerk. I worked two different periods for three months each, first during law school and second while waiting for Bar results.
Duties: Interview clients, prepare civil litigation discovery.

Since 1997, I have prosecuted numerous jury trials, court trials, and felony preliminary hearings. I have argued hundreds of pre-trial and post-trial motions throughout my career.

I have provided advice for numerous policy and procedures modifications as well as several special projects for the Fresno Police Department. One of the most interesting projects was drafting a City ordinance regarding sex offenders.

During the five years as the prosecutor for the Child Abduction Unit, my duties included included overseeing D.A. Investigators and staff in handling local, interstate, and International child abduction cases (parental kidnap). This position requires knowledge of Family Law as well as Criminal Law and specialized training in child abduction. While wearing my family court hat, I worked on behalf of the Court to enforce their orders regarding child custody. This position has allowed me to assist in developing and coordinating policies between the District Attorney’s office, the Court, various County agencies such as DCFS and Family Court Services as well as community service agencies. In addition, I have provided training to law enforcement, DCFS, the District Attorney Association and other groups throughout California on the issues of child abduction.

I had the pleasure of writing legislation and participating in Budget Hearings before the State Assembly as well as the Fresno County Board of Supervisors. I served for two years on the California District Attorney Association child abduction committee, overseeing legislative and budget issues.
